Call to the Illinois Coalition for Peace & Justice's Second Conference
To individuals and groups interested in ICPJ (Illinois Coalition for
Peace & Justice):
The Illinois Coalition for Peace & Justice (ICPJ), founded April 1,
2006, is a networking coalition whose membership is open to Illinois
peace and justice groups as well as faith-based, community, labor,
student, environmental, and veterans groups that share an opposition to
U.S. militarism and to war and seek social justice. Today our
membership has grown to over 107 member groups and some 170 Actions
have
been posted to our Online Action Tool (AOT). See: www.ilcpj.org
We are inviting you to attend our upcoming 2007 ICPJ Conference in
Champaign-Urbana. All are welcome to attend and participate in
discussion with the understanding that only member groups will be able
to vote on proposals.
We are also inviting your group to become a member group of ICPJ. If
you become a member group of ICPJ prior to the Conference your group
will be able to not only participate, but also to vote at the
Conference.
I. ICPJ Goals:
1. To strengthen our individual efforts through a statewide network
2. To share resources and ideas
3. To provide technical assistance
4. To remind all of us that we are not alone.
2007 ICPJ Statewide Conference - "Stopping War - Seeking Justice" will
take place Friday March 30 - Saturday March 31, 2007 at the Holiday
Inn,

Here is an abbreviated summary:
Friday Night - March 30th
Beginning around 6pm - gathering and networking
7:00 - 8:30 pm. Keynote address, Tom Hayden (Suggested donation,
$10.00; student, $5.00). After Tom's talk, informal time to chat with
one another (cash bar).
Saturday - ICPJ 2007 Conference Sessions -
Morning Sessions - primary focus
Presentation of Action Proposals and establishing working groups
Middle of the day - Lunch, workshops, action groups and networking
Afternoon Sessions -
Continue workshops and working group meetings
Establish and structure, committees, budget etc. for the coming year
Panel of Illinois Activists - "Future Direction,"
We've grown considerably in our first year and will be an even more
vibrant and exciting group in 2007.
