DuPage Peace Through Justice Coalition
Peace Vigil

Sunday, December 8, 2002
2-4 p.m.

Northwest corner of Highland Boulevard and Butterfield Road,
across from Yorktown shopping center in Lombard.

Join us for a
Honk for Peace vigil
to oppose George Bush’s drive toward war on Iraq.

This event is one of many anti-war events that will be held
throughout the Chicago area on December 8.

On December 15, 3:30 p.m., there will be a vigil at St. James Cathedral, 65 E. Huron, Chicago, followed by a candlelight procession along Michigan Avenue.

The purpose of the DuPage Peace Through Justice Coalition is multifaceted: to promote nonviolent solutions to terrorism, to call on members of Congress to protect civil liberties, and to provide a public forum to present alternatives to war and education on cross cultural issues. The Coalition is made up of people from diverse ethnic, racial, religious and cultural backgrounds united in their belief that war is not the answer to terrorism. Delegates from the coalition have met with Representative Judy Biggert and with the office of US Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert to discuss US policies toward Afghanistan and Iraq and to express opposition to war. For more information about the past or planned activities of the Coalition, please visit the DuPage Peace Through Justice Coalition website at http://DuPagePeace.home.att.net.
